This course integrates international business with key marketing themes such as marketing strategy and marketing leadership. You'll consider strategy and engagement on a global scale, understanding how business is conducted across cultures and borders. You’ll gain a truly global perspective through international business modules, an international academic and student community, and guest speakers from all over the world.

Key themes
In international business, organisations navigate different national contexts in diverse ways. The curriculum themes and learning materials represent a diversity of global contexts and perspectives. The teaching focuses on the current real-world global issues facing international firms.
You’ll explore international trade, cross-border investment, internationalisation, global entrepreneurship, global sourcing, offshoring and international strategy. You’ll study the changing nature of the international business environment and how this impacts firms. We’ll prepare you for the diversity and complexity which accompany a globally integrated and internationally focused business environment.
You’ll acquire essential skills in project management, business analysis and leadership – learning how to present information and critically evaluate issues as you collaborate and problem-solve in teams.
Some modules offer opportunities to personalise your learning experience, including the flexibility to select assessment tasks that align with your preferences and goals.

You’ll develop your employability skills and understanding of how to be successful as an international business and marketing manager.
You’ll also self-reflect and develop skills that underpin your future professional development. Business skills – e.g. interpersonal, intercultural capabilities, team working and presentation – will complement academic skills such as data acquisition, analysis, academic writing and research).
Live projects
Practical managerial skills are also developed by live interaction with a company. Communicating with a company enhances your business awareness – a particular benefit to international students in terms of business engagement – and develops group work skills.
You can also develop areas to focus on in your dissertation, consultancy or applied project, which you can link to your career aspirations.
Field trips
You may be able to attend field trips to firms in the UK – from local small and medium sized enterprises to multinational firms – giving you a sense of the types of workplaces you could be located in.
Networking opportunities
Key modules make use of guest lecturers to give practical focus, sharing insights into the issues facing real-world companies. Previous students may deliver some of these, giving you a sense of their journey towards the workplace.
You can also take part in careers days, consultancy projects and guest lectures, with the added possibility of networking with former students from the course.

The new Business School will give students modern teaching spaces, that are technologically enabled. This will also give students more of a sense of a home space.
Entry requirements
All students
Good degree (minimum second class honours) or international equivalent, normally in a business-related subject
If English is not your first language you will need an IELTS score of 6.5 overall and a minimum of 6.0 in all skills, or a recognised equivalent.
Work experience will be considered. Exceptionally, candidates with insufficient academic qualifications but extensive relevant employment and managerial experience will be considered for admission to the course, if, in the opinion of the course leader, there is sufficient evidence to indicate that the individual has the potential to successfully complete the chosen course of study.

Home students
Our tuition fee for UK students starting full-time study in 2025/26 is £10,620 for the course.
If you are studying an undergraduate course, postgraduate pre-registration course or postgraduate research course over more than one academic year then your tuition fees may increase in subsequent years in line with Government regulations or UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) published fees. International students
Our tuition fee for International/EU students starting full-time study in 2025/26 is £17,725 for the course.
Postgraduate student loans
Up to £12,471 is available in 2024/25 for home students on most masters courses.
