Additional support

SHU Progress provides support for applicants whose personal circumstances might mean there are barriers to going to university.

There’s still time to join the scheme if you’re applying through clearing. The SHU Progress team can support with navigating the clearing process, helping you make the right decision for you, and getting everything in place for starting university.

International Applications

We are no longer able to accept applications from international undergraduate students for 2024.

Already applied through UCAS

If you didn’t get the results you needed for your first or insurance choice university, or if you have secured a place but have changed your mind and want to study elsewhere, you can still find a place at Sheffield Hallam through clearing.

Here’s what you need for clearing and how it works in three simple steps.

Step 1: Check the UCAS Hub

Before you do anything else, check the UCAS Hub to see if your first or insurance choice university has confirmed your place. If not, you can decide to enter clearing.

Step 2: Call us

Call us up on 0330 024 6390.

When you call up, you’ll need a full list of your results, including your GCSE grades. It’s also good to have your UCAS Personal ID number if you're registered with UCAS or your Sheffield Hallam student ID. This is an 8-digit number you can find on emails or letters sent to you by our admissions team.

If we make you an offer, we’ll email you the details, so make sure you use an email address you can check regularly.

Selection events and interviews

For some courses (e.g. health profession courses and teacher education), you will be required to attend a selection event/interview before a decision is made. Be prepared to attend with short notice, possibly even the same day.

Step 3: Accept your offer

When you receive an offer of a place, log into the UCAS Hub and add your clearing choice to accept your offer to study with us.
