Thematic Review of Local Government Responses to Covid-19 in the UK

Project Director: Tony Gore
Project Duration: 2020-2021

This project involved a thematic review of publicly available evidence on the responses of local authorities and associated bodies to the pressing social, health and economic needs of their respective areas engendered by the Covid-19 emergency. As well as the general overall response the review covered business support and economic recovery; housing and homelessness; public space, health and well-being; and active travel and road space reallocation. The final report appeared as Working Paper #3 in the IGU Commission on the Geography of Governance’s Worldwide Survey and Comparison of Local Government Response to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
