Contemporary Conversations in Culture, Media and Society
These events offer an inclusive forum for disseminating research and discussion on the diversity of cultural, social and media practices globally. They aim to present academics, students and the public with the results of cutting-edge research.
The scope of the series is wide-ranging – both conceptually and empirically – foregrounding an interdisciplinary approach to a broad range of issues that engage critically and creatively with cultural and media analysis.
Invited speakers will present published work or work in progress, followed by questions and group discussion. Speakers are drawn from the centre’s research themes:
- Digital Culture
- Cultural Heritage
- Film and Television
- Anti-Racism
This seminar series is driven by the centre’s purpose to create a more politically engaged and socially just society, and by its vision of democratisation of knowledge and shaping the conversation.
It aligns with our mission to encourage collaborative interdisciplinary working, work with external and non-academic partners and connect teaching and research.
