Placement Action Week and Hallam Award Week are happening this month! Alongside our programme of Get Started On... sessions, our What Can I Do With My Degree? programme starts this month, tailored to final years and graduates but open to all students interested in exploring their career next steps. 

 

Tuesday 4 February

 

Placement Action Week: Placement Reps Tell All, 12 - 1 pm

Careers and Employability Hub Level 2 - Owen Building, City Campus

This session will provide you with insider knowledge from previous Hallam students who have successfully completed a placement year. 

This is your chance to: 

- Learn about the experiences of previous placement students 

- Receive top tips on the placement application process

 - Ask any questions you have about placements to our Hallam Placement Reps

Want a professional photo for your Handshake or LinkedIn profile?

Come to the Careers and Employability Hub between 2pm and 4pm to have your headshot taken! 

A photo may be the last piece of the puzzle for your Handshake profile, so this is the perfect opportunity to take one step closer to completing it and showing employers who you are and what you're looking for. Get Started on...Psychometric Tests and Game Based Assessment, 12.00 – 12:30

Online

This 30 minute session will provide a concise overview of how and why psychometrics and game based assessment are now widely used in recruitment for both placement and graduate roles - and provide a useful introduction into the Graduates First University Aptitude Tests Portal  - where you can practice a whole range of Psychometric Tests/Game Based Assessment, Video Interviews as well as accessing loads of useful advice on employer recruitment process.

This event is for Postgraduate Work Experience students. 

This 2 hour session will look at developing your understanding of interviews, interview questions and how you can formulate strong answers. You will also have the opportunity to practice answering interview questions via interactive peer interviews.

We are bringing together a group of organisations with a wide offer from community or outreach work; to careers that support or help others and make a difference.

This is your chance to explore all of the fantastic opportunities available in a wide range of roles to suit any degree discipline.

Hear insider information on what it's really like to work in these varied industries and receive hot tips on how to successfully navigate their recruitment.

The event will comprise of a short presentation by each employer. This will be followed by a Q&A panel and networking session , which will give you the opportunity to ask questions about the specific graduate programmes and opportunities.
