Graduate Support

We offer a lifetime of support to Sheffield Hallam University graduates. We are here to help you make that change from studying to entering the world of work and beyond. You can come to us at any time in your life, not just after you have finished your studies, for support such as managing a career change, considering further study, or even just working out what you want to do.

 
Employability Bootcamp

The first of our three annual Employability Bootcamps runs in July 2024. Across four weeks, you'll take part in curated sessions designed to help you build your alumni network and secure the a graduate role. Find out more and sign up to the next Employability Bootcamp.

 
Handshake

Career Centre 360

Our online career tool platform, Career Centre 360, contains career support resources and practical tools to help you prepare for the recruitment process and think about your next career steps.

Graduates First

The Graduates First Portal allows you to practice psychometric tests and video interviews. You can also find application and interview tips on the platform, and search through the curated jobs board. You can use Graduates First by requesting an account as part of our digital tools packages. Complete the form to request access.  

 
Advice appointments for graduates 

As a Hallam graduate, you have lifetime access to careers support. Our advisers offer one-to-one appointments for CV, cover letter, and job application support, as well as tailored advice regarding your career decision making, skill development, and interview practice. Appointments are available face-to-face on campus, online, or over the phone. Late appointments are offered on a Wednesday between 4-7PM to fit around your schedule.

Support is also available for recent graduates from our Graduate Futures Coach. We offer career clinics and workshops, and our career boot camp programme will begin this July. Find out what's going on in the Graduate Newsletter or search on Handshake.

Working for yourself

If you are interested in working for yourself, support is available from the Enterprise team. As part of the Hallam Graduate Start-ups Offer, you can access information about funding access, one-to-one appointments, online interactive webinars, and mentoring support.
