BS Stainless Limited specialises in processing and distributing stainless steel products.

What we did

The company wanted their products to achieve the CE marking. This coveted standard of stainless steel production is a key indicator of a product's compliance with relevant EU legislation in terms of health, safety, environmental protection and energy efficiency.

BS Stainless approached our Materials and Engineering Research Institute (MERI), which helped them secure a £1000 grant from the Manufacturing Advisory Services towards the approval process. 

We also provided facilities and technical expertise to help the company conduct tests on the products. This is the most important part of the audit process as it demonstrates the properties of the products for approval.

The results

BS Stainless is now CE approved for its stainless steel coil, sheet, strip and wire — one of the first British stainless steel processors and distributors to achieve the approval.

By affixing the CE mark, BS Stainless are able to declare their conformity with EU regulation, improve their products' credibility and assure customers of product quality. With the health and safety laws becoming more and more stringent, the approval has also placed BS ahead of the competition.

A survey carried out by the London Stock Exchange Group has now placed BS Stainless among their list of '1000 companies to inspire Britain.'
