At Morrisons degree apprentices give us access to a new talent pipeline
We’ve worked with Morrisons to create a bespoke degree apprenticeship programme that is designed to give apprentices a full overview of their business. The work-based training programme allows individuals to study towards a degree and prepare for a management career with one of the UK’s leading fresh food manufacturers and retailers.
“At Morrisons we believe that young talent is the future of our business. Hiring degree apprentices gives us access to a new talent pipeline and brings fresh ideas, creativity and energy to the workplace. All of our apprentices play a key part in our business. They have added real value across many different areas, helping to drive and implement change in a complex world and fast-moving environment.
The opportunity for apprentices to practice learned techniques with the support from their line managers and mentors enables individuals to develop and progress their careers. We ensure our apprentices are provided with development opportunities to help them learn the skills needed to become great managers.
We would certainly recommend other businesses to take on apprentices. If you can give the time to develop, coach and mentor apprentices then the results are very rewarding both personally and for the business. It is great to watch our students work hard, learn quickly and succeed in their careers at the end of their scheme.”
