A scholarship can change the course of a student's life forever. 

Donations to the Hallam Fund are supporting students who have overcome significant hurdles just to get to university. Our undergraduate scholarships offer our most disadvantaged students the best chance to tap into their potential and excel in their studies, regardless of their financial circumstances or background.

Real Estate student Daniel is one of our high-achieving scholars. After a successful second year at Sheffield Hallam, he is now on placement with an independent real estate consultancy in Manchester. From working on selling properties to looking at building defects, Daniel is applying all the knowledge he has learned so far and putting it into practice. The scholarship has not only supported his time at university but has also made his placement year possible.

‘I saved up some of the money I received in my second year so I could spend it on accommodation in my placement year. The funding is much appreciated. It’s given me extra motivation. Knowing someone has invested in me makes me feel like I can do it. It just gives me that extra self-confidence I needed.’

Once he graduates, Daniel hopes to secure a job in Manchester, a city he fell in love with during a field trip in his first year of university, and eventually pursue a RICS qualification.
