Ryan is responsible for managing all activity undertaken by the AWRCs ‘R&D for Business team’. The team brokers in and facilitates opportunities for our academics to collaborate on R&D projects with industrial partners – helping them get their products closer to market; increase market share; or enter new markets.

This also includes the delivery of the AWRCs unique ‘wellbeing accelerator programme’, as well as collaborative grant funding applications with industrial partners. His background before moving into innovation management was mainly in financial services where he supported the banking needs of businesses at one of the big four banks.

Until recently, he worked as part of the University’s central change management function, supporting large-scale change across the organisation and is now full-time at the AWRC supporting implementation of the centre’s strategy for engagement with industry.
