Sheffield Hallam is one of the largest universities in the country. There are a variety of activities that take place on a daily basis, each with their own environmental impacts that need to be managed.
This is done through our certification to ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system which identifies our most significant environmental impacts including campus energy use.
From this, our plan and policy documents are created which set out a series of targets to reduce our impacts. These are developed and implemented with the support of the management review group and signed off by senior colleagues.
The management systems requires our targets to be regularly maintained and checked internally and externally. This ensures that we are able to effectively deliver our improvements.
