About
Previously, David was Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences at Keele (2009-2016), and then Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Canterbury Christ Church University (2016-2019). Prior to his time at Keele, David was a senior member of staff at the University of Sheffield, where he founded the Bakhtin Centre and held a wide range of leadership roles, including Head of the School of Modern Languages and Linguistics, Director of Research for Arts and Humanities, and Director of the Humanities Research Institute.
A Russianist by background, he has published extensively on Russian literature, culture and cultural theory.
