Professor Conor Moss

Summary
Conor was appointed Dean of the College of Business, Technology and Engineering and Dean of Sheffield Business School at Sheffield Hallam University in October 2022. Conor has held previous roles at Hallam as Group Director Business Engagement, Skills and Enterprise and Principal Lecturer in Sheffield Business School.
About
Conor is an experienced academic with over 20 years experience in Higher Education having started his academic career teaching in business schools and leading on work-based learning initiatives. In 2021 he was appointed Professor of Work-Based Learning at Sheffield Hallam in recognition of his contribution to employability and work-based learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Overall strategic leadership of the College including:
• Strategic leadership for business planning and portfolio performance
• Academic leadership for strategic marketing and recruitment
• Strategic leadership, development & management of the taught portfolio, research and innovation and business and enterprise
As Dean of College for BTE, he is responsible for overall leadership of the College including budgets, student recruitment and experience (approx. 11,000 students), shape and size of the portfolio, research innovation and knowledge exchange and external engagement. He has led significant change at Hallam including the ongoing renewal of Sheffield Business School, growing School of Computing and leading on the creation of a new School of Engineering and Built Environment.
Conor holds several Board roles including Chartered Association of Business Schools, Olympic Legacy Park, Sheffield and Sheffield Tech Parks. He regularly speaks and writes about work-based learning and employer provision, employability, employer engagement and graduate outcomes and the broader role of universities and their contribution to regional economy and skills.
