Rebecca White MA, BA
Graduate Teaching Assistant - Politics and Sociology
Summary
I am a Graduate Teaching Assistant currently teaching within Sociology. My research interests consist of; young people's experiences of inequality at school and how inequalities operate within in wider social settings and policy debates around this.
About
I am currently a PhD student at Sheffield Hallam researching a project titled 'Inequality, barriers to opportunity, and the lived experience at a British School'. This project is based on the ideas of Pierre Bourdieu and more contemporary Bourdiusian thinkers in order to explain how education as a structure actively works against marginalised groups, both implicitly and explicitly. The project aims to understand and amplify the voices of young people and their experiences of inequality.
