Naheeda Rehman RSCN, BA, SCPHN, MSc
Children's Nursing Lecturer
Summary
Children's nurse and health visitor by background. My interests include public health and research. I am an advocate for inclusivity and diversity within our university. My areas of research to date are around atopic disease.
About
I qualified as a children's nurse in 2000 from Sheffield Hallam University. My first post as a newly qualified nurse was at Rotherham General Hospital Children's unit. I took up my first senior nurse role in 2002 at Birmingham Children's Hospital acute medical ward and returned to Rotherham staying there till 2014 as a senior nurse on the children's unit. I left in 2014 to return to Sheffield Hallam University to study the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse course and train to be a health visitor. I worked as a health visitor in Sheffield and here is where my interest in research and atopic diseases began. Becoming part of the 0-19 service research council I was able to complete my Masters in Public Health Nursing which explored how eczema in children is managed by health visitors. I became a researcher in a collaborative project between the Sheffield Children's Hospital allergy department and Sheffield Hallam University. This was subsequently presented at two conferences.
This path led me to Sheffield Hallam University where I took up my current post as a lecturer.
