Summary

Following 18 years in industry Luke joined Sheffield Hallam in November 2020 as a Senior Lecturer in Quantity Surveying. Luke has worked for a large Main Contractor and also Client side as a Consultant, undertaking both QS and Project Management roles.

 

About

After graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a sandwich degree, Luke continued working for Laing Construction. Over the years he worked within Laing O'Rourke Construction South, Construction North and Infrastructure North and in the education, healthcare, sports and leisure and rail sectors. In 2013 Luke moved to work client side as a PQS as a Senior Cost Manager for Turner and Townsend from the Sheffield office. He worked on a number of projects across all sectors, specifically working within Further Education and with the Local Authority. Luke then moved to Mascot Management providing QS and PM services and became an Associate Director responsible for the QS Service. As a Senior Lecturer within the Department of the Natural and Built Environment Luke teaches predominantly Quantity Surveying subjects to both undergraduate and postgraduate students on RICS accredited courses. He is also the Course Leader for the Quantity Surveying Degree Apprenticeship courses. Luke is an APC Assessor and a member of the local group for the RICS.
