Summary

I am a senior leader in education, with extensive knowledge and experience of the Further Education and Skills sector. In my current role, my areas of focus are within portfolio development and partnerships, where I have ambitions to use my experience to enhance this area.
I am passionate about education and supporting our students to get the best out of their time here at SHU, as well as preparing them well for their futures.

About

I have worked in education since 2000 within Further Education, teaching and managing Further Education and Skills (FES) programmes as well as a range of degrees since 2007. I have led the developments of education curriculum across multiple partner organisations including four other Higher Education Institutions.

My main subject areas initially focused on sport, health and psychology, this expanded into teacher education where I lead the FES programmes.

I have worked in a variety of different senior leadership roles with a vast range of responsibilities, including curriculum spanning multiple funding streams.

As part of my current role, I lead on portfolio and partnership work, as well as support the overall running of the Institute. Within this, I am the Senior University Partnership Lead for ITT Lead Partners.

I hold voluntary positions which support my role. I am a Governor at Calderdale College and Bishop Pursglove Primary School. I also represent the University as a Member of the UTC Sheffield. These roles enable me to keep up to date with each phase of education sector.

Through my work in Further Education, I have led on financial reconciliation bids, commercial endeavours and portfolio and partnership developments which positively impacted the organisational reputation and finances.

My current work within SSA enables me to use my past experience of developing portfolios of work and partnership working. I am ambitious to work in this area and have a clear vision of how our provision can support our partners further.

I have worked as a senior leader in education since 2018, where I have led on inspections from QAA and Ofsted, where high quality outcomes have been achieved. I have led on the Office for Student registration and evaluation monitoring processes.

In my current role, I have led on the DfE market review readiness process, external strategy groups and governance. I support the PSRB requirements of the Institute.

In the next few years, I am keen to explore research within Further Education leadership.
