Summary
I joined Sheffield Hallam University in 2021 after a long career in academia. I am currently working as a Lecturer and Level Leader for the Postgraduate Banking and Finance Program. My highest academic qualification is a PhD in Finance from the University of Liverpool. I teach various Finance-related modules at both the postgraduate and undergraduate levels. I have published several articles in peer-reviewed high-impact-factor journals, with a Google Scholar citation score exceeding 450. My broad research areas include Sustainable and Climate Finance, Biodiversity, Fintech, and Corporate Governance.
About
I currently work as a Lecturer in Finance at Sheffield Business School, Sheffield Hallam University, following more than two years in an Associate Lecturer position in the same department. I have also worked as Graduate Teaching Fellow at the University of Liverpool. Prior to this, I served for over 7 years at Eastern University, working as a Lecturer and later as an Assistant Professor in Finance. I am also serving as Level Leader for the Postgraduate Banking and Finance Program. I am an external examiner of MSc in Finance Program at University of Salford.
I obtained my PhD in Finance from the University of Liverpool (under full funded doctoral scholarship). I hold an MSc in Financial Management with Distinction from Sheffield Hallam University, where I was awarded the Transform Together Scholarship by the University. Prior to this, I completed my MBA and BBA degrees in Finance.
My scholarly works have been published in ABS and ABDC indexed Q1 journals (Google citation score is above 450), and I have authored a book chapter on Green Financing published by Routledge. I regularly present my research at international conferences, including the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) and Centre for Social and Environmental Research (CSEAR). I also serve as a Reviewer for the International Review of Financial Analysis and the Finance Research Letters Journal. I have been awarded a number of research project grants. My research interest is in the field of Climate Finance, Biodiversity, CSR, ESG, Fintech and Corporate Governance. I am an advanced user of programming software STATA and possess knowledge of research database including Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon, RepRisk, Zephyr and WRDS. I am also co-leading a Research working work on “Fintech and Financial Inclusion” at Sheffield Business School.
I have taught numerous Finance Modules at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I have substantial experience of supervising thesis students. I am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), UK. My current and former membership in Scholarly Associations include American Finance Association (AFA), Financial Management Association (FMA), Centre for Social and Environmental Research (CSEAR), and the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA).
