David Legge

Senior Lecturer in Mechanical, Materials and Design Engineering

Summary

I lead or co-tutor on a number of undergraduate engineering modules including computer aided design (CAD), machine elements, and space and satellite technology. I also tutor on post graduate modules in design for manufacture and advanced manufacturing technology.

About

I am course leader for BSc(Hons) Aerospace Technology and try to support students studying for this degree. I also contribute to the running and development of the university's portfolio of aero degrees.

In addition to my Sheffield Hallam role, I also sit on the regional IMechE committee and am External Examiner at Burnley colleges for their Mechanical and Electrical Engineering HNC/HND courses.

Although not research active, I do supervise MSc dissertation projects in the area of manufacturing engineering and engineering design. I am also involved in a Knowledge Transfer Partnerships with a local company. Although not research per se, this has provided valuable experience of cutting edge manufacturing process (forging) simulation.
