Summary

Dave is the university's lead strength and conditioning coach. He has significant applied experience at Olympic and international level having supported teams at the 2012 Olympics and the Commonwealth Games as well as coaching numerous world champions in a variety of sports.

About

He is the S&C lead for England Volleyball as well as the head coach of Hallam Barbell Weightlifting Club. Dave manages the 'Performance Consultancy Programme' (PCP) at CSES which provides sport science support to a number of sports and community groups through graduates of the Universities Sport Science programme.

Dave is a well-recognised and respected S&C coach and also a qualified and experienced sports therapist. Dave graduated from Sheffield Hallams Sport Science programme and has also completed post graduate studies in both Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation (MSc) and Advanced Business Practice and Business Engagement (PGDip).

The philosophy and coaching approach that he uses in his work is real world and people focused with an underpinning evidence base from science.

A large part of Daves role at the University involves developing students and producing coaches and Sport Science practitioners through the Universities Sport Science Internship programme which he manages. This programme has a 5 year pathway which provides students and young practitioners with opportunities to develop and gain practical experience preparing them for employment.
