Summary

Dave Green is a senior lecturer in the College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences at Sheffield Hallam. Currently involved in undergraduate and masters level teaching and supervision with the radiotherapy and oncology team. He is course leader for the Dip He programme in Radiotherapy and Oncology Practice and module leader for the undergraduate Anatomy and Image Interpretation module. As a Professional Development Facilitator he supports undergraduate, postgraduate and clinical staff within his clinical department - St James’s University Hospital, Leeds.

About

As a senior lecturer and module leader for anatomy and image interpretation Dave is Involved in the delivery of CPD study days in anatomy and IGRT both at Sheffield Hallam and at other hospital trusts. His research interests include - the use of VERT™ as a training and recruitment resource, the teaching of anatomy using interactive 'blended' strategies, student recruitment, service user involvement and student clinical assessment. He has completed an MSc dissertation in health care education looking at The Influence of VERT™ Characteristics on the Development of Skills in Skin Apposition Techniques. This study investigates the influence of virtual environment characteristics on the development of skills previously honed exclusively in the clinical environment. This qualification has been an accredited route to gain Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

Dave is also involved in the delivery of university and hospital open days as well as interview days as part of the recruitment process for University undergraduate selection. He is also currently involved in the facilitation of radiotherapy student education at St James University Hospital Leeds. This involves the organising of rotas to ensure students are exposed to the wide variety of clinical placements, the facilitation of tutorials for students based in clinical placement, the assessment and review of student performance. He is also responsible for training radiotherapy staff in the role of student assessment and mentoring.
