Summary

My academic and professional interests are based in three areas. Firstly in the fields of communication and social sciences where I have a significant role in teaching these subjects as they apply to nursing in the preregistration nursing programme. Secondly in the field of mentoring where I have spent many years leading and developing the mentor preparation module for post registered nurses, midwives and other health professionals. My third interest is in the field of international nursing. Stemming initially from a number of years working as a volunteer nurse and midwife in Papua New Guinea and India, I now also provide assistance to student nurses who wish to arrange an elective experience abroad.
