Caroline Dalton

Dr Caroline Dalton BSc, PhD

PhD Reader in Neuroscience and Genetics

Summary

I am Theme Lead for Living Well with Chronic Disease at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre, and lead the Health and Disease group in the Biomolecular Sciences Research Centre

Teaching

I teach Neurobiology, Applied Biochemistry, Immunology and Nutrition. I am part of the course leadership team for the Integrated Masters programme.

Biomedical Science

Research

My research interests include the investigation of the molecular mechanisms underlying differential responses to interventions to treat complex conditions such as schizophrenia, depression and obesity. Recent studies include laboratory-based experiments to investigate the effect of drugs at a cellular level, through to community-based projects analysing the individual variability in response to lifestyle interventions aimed at preventing weight-gain in patients taking antipsychotic drugs.
