Project Manager – Sheffield Innovation Programme
Summary
Ian is Project Manager for the ERDF funded Sheffield Innovation Programme, providing Sheffield City Region businesses with access to expertise, facilities and resources to stimulate innovation and support the delivery of new products, processes and services.
About
Ian’s current areas of work include
- managing delivery of an effective innovation support offering to regional businesses, making the best use of available Sheffield Hallam resources
- facilitating development of longer term relationships with the client base
- ensuring regulatory compliance and achievement of contractual output targets
Ian joined the Research and Innovation Office at Sheffield Hallam in 2011, as Client Liaison Manager for the Innovation Futures (IF) project engaging with previous clients to build relationships and collate evidence of project outputs.
Ian subsequently became Project Manager for the follow-on, IF2 project, and now manages the Sheffield Innovation Programme.
From 2007 to 2011, Ian worked in a small consultancy company, working with a broad range of private and public sector organisations throughout Yorkshire and Humberside with respect to EU funding for research and development. Support included providing detailed advice on programme participation, consortium building, and proposal development.
Between 1980 and 2006, Ian was employed in the manufacturing sector working for companies including DuPont and Agfa-Gevaert, occupying a number of roles covering quality control supervision, industrial research (chemistry), health and safety, and production management. For the latter ten years, Ian’s role was Engineering Projects Manager, leading a team of engineers and designers in implementing engineering and construction projects up to a value of £20m.
