Summary

Andrew is a Chartered Architect and Architectural Technologist and Head of Architecture at Sheffield Hallam University.

About

Andrew has worked at Sheffield Hallam University since 2001. During that time he has played a key role if the development of all four of the Architecture courses. He has been course leader for each of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Architecture and Architectural Technology.

In 2010 he took on the role of Academic Group Leader for Architecture, becoming responsible for the development of the School of Architecture.

Andrew is a regular Chair of RIBA Validation Boards, responsible for the professional recognition of architecture course in the UK and Internationally. He is also a Board member of the International Congress of Architectural Technology.

Andrew's students have won a number of awards at both Part 1 and Part 2 level from the RIBA White Rose Competition.

During his time as a student at The University of Sheffield Andrew worked regularly for University's Architectural Consultancy Service, collaborating with staff members on live projects and competitions. During eight years in practice at Derek Trowell Architects his completed projects were used as models for published academic research and have been featured in the architectural and national press.

He remains an active architect and self-builder.
