About
Since qualification as a general nurse, I have worked in emergency departments in different geographical areas of England. I was involved in a non-accredited medical nurse practitioner programme in 2004 which has subsequently turned into an accredited masters programme in advanced clinical practice.
I completed my MA in Healthcare Studies in 2012 which included the non- medical prescribing qualification as well as a work based dissertation study which resulted in the employment of four Advanced Clinical Practitioners in the department that I was currently working.
I completed my PgCert in Advanced Practice in 2015.
As a result of my broad experience I am able to teach into a number of the advancing practice modules. I am currently module leader for the minor illness management course. I am a module instructor on the Advanced Physical Assessment and Consultation Skills (APACS), non-medical prescribing, pharmacy independent prescribing and physician associate modules.
