I am an Associate Head within Sheffield Business School. I am proud to help lead a fantastic team of passionate and professional lecturers dedicated to providing learning excellence and transforming the lives of our students.
About
I am an Associate Head within Sheffield Business School. Teaching interests in Enterprise, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management. I have been working in academia since 2003. Previously I worked in industry mainly in marketing roles within insurance, engineering and design. I ran my own successful business producing video and audio training products for 10 years before joining the academic community. My principal research interests are in nascent entrepreneurship especially business start-up, opportunity identification and entrepreneurial cognition. This research focus is augmented by consultancy and business engagement activities. I undertook a PhD at the University of Hull and completed in 2007. In 2024 I was proud to receive an Inspirational Teaching Award.
