Summary

Following qualification as a psychiatric social worker at Manchester University Aileen worked in Glasgow as a mental health social worker then moved to Derbyshire where she worked as a mental health social worker, then a trainer then manager before becoming a senior / principal lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.

She then worked for NIMHE as a primary care development worker then for CSIP and as an independent mental health trainer for CWMT, a charity.

Aileen returned to work part-time at Sheffield Hallam eight years ago and is course leader for the AMHP programme and Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership in Adult Safeguarding.
