Joanna Allen

Summary
Joanna is a graduate of the University of Sheffield where she studied Business Studies, graduating in 1998. After graduating Joanna trained as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and was promoted to Director within 7 years of qualifying. Over her 17-year career with the organisation she worked with many manufacturing organisations, in particular those in South Yorkshire, as an Audit and Transaction Services director as both the senior statutory auditor and reporting into global audit teams in the United States of America and Europe. As a newly qualified accountant she spent some time working in the US and her transaction services work involved periods in London and Europe.
As an auditor her experience included Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 reporting and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) transition projects and advising companies following the 2008 financial crisis. From mid-2015 to the end of 2020 she was the Chief Financial Officer of Pressure Technologies plc, an AIM listed engineering group with manufacturing operations across the UK. In January 2021 Joanna was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer at DEA Aviation Limited. Her particular skills are in financial due diligence, financial reporting, management information and data analysis and her current role incorporates all of these as well as Board level strategy and corporate governance.
Between 2016 and 2020 Joanna was a parent Governor at Hunters Bar Infant School in Sheffield, taking on the Vice-Chair role and heading the finance committee. The role supported the School through a time of significant change in the education sector, in particular the academisation of many schools in the Local Authority and a very successful project to create a green barrier to improve the air quality in the playground.
Joanna is Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.
