Ian Hall

Summary
Ian is Head of Membership (International) at Advance HE. He joined Advance HE when it formed in 2018, having worked for one of its predecessors, the Higher Education Academy, since 2016. Ian manages relationships with 60 HEI's in 20 different countries, and also works directly with national ministries and funding bodies on higher education development programmes, with a particular focus on learning and teaching, leadership and equality.
Ian's previous roles include being Programme Office Manager in the Information Service and the University of York, and Technical Services Director at MyKnowledgeMap Ltd, a learning technology provider.
Ian has a BSc in IT, Business Management, and Language from the University of York, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Leeds, and Diploma in Management Consulting. He is an Associate Fellow of Advance HE, and is part of its Race Action Group. He also regularly attends and presents at international conferences.
Ian has lived and worked in Yorkshire for 20 years and is keen to make an impact on the local region. He was attracted to Sheffield Hallam due to its commitment to excellent teaching and its civic mission.
Ian is a Member of the Audit and Risk Committee.
