Eye-tracking laboratory
The Tobii T120 eye-tracker is a non-obtrusive eye-tracker which does not require head mounted tracking equipment meaning that it is easy to use with young children and brain-injured patients. This eye-tracker can be both a laboratory-based tracker but is also portable to enable eye-tracking research in the field. We also have Tobii Eye-tracking glasses which allow you to record real-world scenarios and provide more comprehensive data.Psychophysiology laboratory
This lab houses both electroencephalograph (EEG) facilities as well as more basic psychophysiology recording equipment (like heart-rate and skin-conductance recording). All these stimuli, and more, can be recorded concurrently, as well as with eye-tracking and BioPac software.Psychophysics low-level vision laboratory
We have dedicated equipment especially suited to fine grained manipulation of stimulus intensities and durations particularly suited to low-level vision research.Observation suite
The observation room has four high-definition video cameras and microphones so you can see and hear everything that goes on in the room, whilst not interrupting. This can be especially useful for sensitive research. One of the cameras can be moved by remote control to allow you to follow and focus on certain activities. The recordings are fed to a computer in the adjoining laboratory, which can be viewed and coded live or downloaded for use later.Food Labs
We have a dedicated kitchen and facilities for food-based research.Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation
This is a portable, wearable brain stimulation technique which sends a low-level electrical current through your scalp via electrodes on your head, with different electrode positions used to test/treat different conditions.Technical Operations, Resources and Services (TORS) Team
The TORS team have over 20 years’ experience, with a great understanding of student projects and academic research. They can:
• loan specialist technical equipment including laptops, digital video cameras, digital voice recorders, transcribing equipment, and much more
• provide examples of previous student dissertations through the Dissertation Library
• book workrooms for you
• support those working with psychological tests and research questionnaires.
