Association for Science Education Futures Conference 

On the 4th and 5th of July 2019 the Association for Science Education (ASE) Futures Conference took place at Sheffield Hallam University in the Sheffield Institute of Education.

Over the two days members of staff from SIoE took part in the conference, sharing their expertise.  Julie Jordan gave a key note speech on teacher professional learning and the need to take context seriously. Joelle Halliday gave a workshop called 'Permission to Dabble!' on teacher CPD, and Richard Pountney and Emily Perry teamed up to deliver a workshop on cross-curricular Science.

The conference was reviewed in Education in Science and was described as 'the biggest and best by far’ with SIOE being commended for their hosting skills.  Participants reported finding the conference 'academically stimulating', 'relevant' and a great opportunity to ‘network’. SIoE have a long history of working in partnership with the Association for Science Education. This continues in 2019-2020, with:
