Our research groups are dedicated to shaping the future of healthcare and improving the health and wellbeing of people. We deliver real-world impact, improving the way professionals deliver care and transform lives of service users and carers at every stage of life.
Our research is interdisciplinary and carried out in collaboration with clinical partners and healthcare organisations.
We help to inform policy, clinical guidelines, practice and education, and improves healthcare professionals' practice.

- Health and social care organisation and workforce.
Each group draws together researchers from across our health and social care departments, the wider institution, They also forge collaborations with partners locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
The Applied Health and Social Care Research Centre
The soon to be launched Applied Health and Social Care Research Centre embraces inter-disciplinary research across our academic health and social departments. The Centre has three primary objectives:
- To support healthy populations and communities
- To transform the health and social care workforce
- To enhance the health and wellbeing of individuals
