HKC Advisory Committee

The Department for Law and Criminology (HKC) Advisory Committee is an essential component in ensuring that our portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate and research activity is informed by and shared with an active and informed group of professional stakeholders. The committee:

  • comments on opportunities, trends and issues of long-term strategic importance
  • supports HKC Advisory Committee in developing new initiatives by acting as a sounding board and by stimulating new ideas
  • provides up-to-date information about major developments within the sector in the UK and overseas
  • helps the HKC Advisory Committee establish and develop contact with relevant individuals and organisations in the professional and education sector
  • acts as an advocate of HKC Advisory Committee within relevant professional sectors and across the UK and overseas
  • participates in supporting specific HKC Advisory Committee programmes
  • serves as a channel of professional advice, keeping us informed of major developments, offering fresh insights and identifying new opportunities
  • provides inputs to strategy and monitors the achievement of our strategic objectives
  • helps widen knowledge of our programmes across the UK and to key decision makers within The Law Society, The Bar Council and a range of other key stakeholders in the civil and criminal justice system at home and abroad
