Giving

Sheffield Hallam University is committed to supporting students achieve their ambitions. As one of the UK's most inclusive universities, Hallam welcomes more students from disadvantaged and under-represented groups than most others in the UK.

With the help of our alumni and supporter community, we can shape our students’ futures together. You change the lives of those who face societal barriers and experience inequality, helping them to achieve their goals and have the university experience they deserve. That’s why the Hallam Fund was created.

Since 2016, the Hallam Fund has supported thousands of members of our student and academic communities through innovative projects and learning opportunities. So far, your donations have supported:

  • the students who need it most to have access to scholarships and bursaries that help alleviate the financial pressures of pursuing higher education
  • transformational research to solve real world problems
  • high-impact career-enhancing and inspiring opportunities, such as volunteering, work placements and internships

There is so much more to be done.

Why should I give now?

The number of students who need support far exceeds the current financial provisions the University can provide, and donations really do make a difference to ensure students can thrive. You can donate regularly, make a one-off donation, fundraise, give a major gift, or leave a legacy.

When you become a donor, you have the power to transform lives.

Scholarships offer lifelines to estranged students

A scholarship can transform a student's life forever. Donations to the Hallam Fund are supporting undergraduate scholarships which offer our most disadvantaged students the best opportunity to tap into their potential and excel in their studies, regardless of their financial circumstances or background.
