Our International Foundation Programmes help you meet the academic and English language requirements for an undergraduate degree.
Completion guarantees you entry to over 60 Sheffield Hallam undergraduate degrees.
You'll learn UK study practices and language that will help you succeed. And if you progress to an undergraduate degree, you'll also get a 10% discount on your first year fees.
Entry requirements
To start an International Foundation Programme you need:
- good high school graduation grades, including maths
- a minimum IELTS of 4.5 with at least 4.0 in all skills.
Depending on your IELTS scores, you can apply for a two-term or three-term course.
Two terms
Two-term courses begin in January and end in July.
- You must be 18 years old by 1 January.
- Requires IELTS 5.0 with a minimum of 4.5 in all skills.
Three terms
Three-term courses begin in September and end in July.
From September to December, you will study an English language module for a minimum 15 hours a week. In January, you will join students on the two-term programme.
- You must be 18 years old by 1 September.
- Requires IELTS 4.5 with a minimum of 4.0 in all skills.
